Set in the glorious Galloway countryside, surrounded
by quiet lanes, hills and beaches, the Marks extends you a warm welcome
in the farmhouse which dates back to the 16th century.
Bed & Breakfast is Scottish Tourist Board 3 star rated.
Peaceful surroundings and an idyllic base for golfing, walking, cycling
and riding. Galloway is "Scotland's best kept secret"! Kirkcudbright
which is only four miles down the road, is a renowned artists' colony,
painters being drawn by the Solway scenery and the pure quality of the
light. The town boasts several galleries exhibiting local artists, with
specialist jewellers and exclusive dress and gift shops, and plenty of
places to eat out. It's a lovely old town with fishing boats tied up at
the harbour watched over by the ruin of McLellan's Castle in the town
centre.
The Marks is a working upland farm, with dairy cows and now specialising
in worm farming.
